Some commonly asked questions

I am sore after class. Is this normal?

Of course, you are using muscles that have never been worked to such measures. Hot baths will always sooth painful aches. Massage is another great way to comfort aching muscles. Over the counter remedies such as, Icy-Hot and Tiger Balm are used by many students. However if you are using any medications, always consult your physician.

How long does it take to get a belt?

If you attend class on a regular basis, belt achievement is possible after two or three months of training in the beginning stages. Belt testing is conducted every month as a convenience to our students. See your instructor or program coordinator if you have any questions regarding your status in testing.

Is there a charge for belt testing?

At every level there is a fee for testing. The fees are:

The fee covers your belt and certificate, and of course the time for the examiners. Black Belt Club members fee is $15 for yellow through Red/Black testing as a benefit of that membership, See Master Milhan foe Black Belt test fees.

Who conducts testing?

Our organization has certified Black Belts who are authorized to test students.

What is the difference between Karate and Tae Kwon DO?

Karate is a Japanese word that means "Way of the empty hand". Tae Kwon Do is a Korean word that means "Way of the foot and hand". Each art comes from different parts of Asia. We use the word Karate in our school name for the purpose of familiarity to the general public." Karate" has become almost a generic word for the martial arts. Specifically, you are learning an enhanced style of Tae Kwon Do with improvements in the style made by Master Milhan.
